Silhouettes of Loved Ones lost

Together We Remember

Since its first acknowledgment, HIV has impacted every nation and every population of humans, encircling the globe with a common loss and a united need. Though the raw data representing HIV infection is itself profound, the truth of HIV is in all instances that of individuals and personal stories—stories of loved ones and champions of hope and of heartbreak.

The Remember Project is an ambitious attempt to utilize the tools of today’s online networking to create a living archive for the memories of loved ones lost to HIV. Our mission is to honor and celebrate the lives of the individuals lost and to discover our lasting connection with them and with one another through the sharing of memory and story.

Contribute Your Memories

This archive will be given life only through the stories and memories contributed to it. Please, share your stories and photographs with us. As our collection of stories and memories grows we will begin to create a searchable archive through which to publicly share those memories through this site.

By submitting any content to the Remember Project (written, photo, video, audio or otherwise) you are acknowledging that you possess all necessary rights to the content and are granting the Remember Project the right to use and display the content online, in print, or otherwise in keeping with the mission of the Remember Project.

Send your photos, stories, and memories to info@rememberproject.org.

Our Vision

By preserving and sharing the memory of individuals who died as a result of HIV, we believe the Remember Project will help create a world where our collective memory is enriched and the stigma of the virus is erased in light of the shared humanity of those affected. Though it may be a long process, it is our vision that the Remember Project will be accessible the world over for exploration and the contribution of memory, as the legacy and effect of HIV is known to all peoples.

It is our intention that the Remember Project will become a community for sharing support, fostering discussion, and providing a resource of information for those affected by HIV.
